Philippe joined FIA in 2026 and currently serves as Managing Director and Head of Business Development. He and his team are responsible for capital formation, relationship management, investor solutions, and communications for the firm, working closely with FIA’s investment, sustainability, and operational teams.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining FIA, Philippe led Business Development at several investment managers including Verod Capital, an African private equity specialist, The Rohatyn Group, a global emerging market and real asset investment platform, and QFR Capital, a global macro hedge fund. Philippe began his career working in capital markets, trading, and sales with several international banks and investment banks in the US and Europe. Born in the south of France, Philippe studied in Paris and Washington D.C.

What is your business philosophy?

My business philosophy is centered around putting investors first and delivering value to our partners by constantly honing our process, knowing our products and clearly communicating their value, evaluating the requirements of our investors and prospects, understanding and respecting their viewpoint and providing a solution to their needs. In doing so, it is essential to leverage your team. As Phil Jackson said, “The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.”

Why did you choose this field / career path?

I always had a strong interest in the workings of economic systems and financial markets. I gained exposure to many asset classes and strategies throughout my career and found that I particularly enjoy talking to investors about their views, investments, and needs. I developed a particular interest in Forestry and Natural Capital while gaining exposure to the asset class at a previous firm. I am a strong believer in sustainable investments. Forestry is unique in providing robust long-term value creation, and market-based solutions to develop and preserve natural environments.

What is one of the best lessons you’ve learned during your career?

Doing the work and being prepared will help tilt the scale in your favor in most situations but remaining flexible is equally important. Sometimes the opportunity is not where you expect it.
